About Yi

Genuine connection, quiet beauty, and the moments that matter most are what draw me to wedding photography.

Hi, I’m Yi. Originally from the vibrant city of Hong Kong, I now call the peaceful American suburbs home, where life feels a little slower and the beauty of everyday moments stands out even more.

My journey with photography began in 2009, when I married my soulmate. Looking through our wedding photos, I was struck by how powerfully images can hold emotion, preserve joy, and bring you back to a moment you never want to forget. That experience sparked a passion that has shaped the way I see the world ever since.

Since 2014, I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings. For me, it is never just about documenting a day. It is about witnessing the beginning of a marriage and preserving the moments that make it unforgettable. Every celebration is different, and each one deserves to be remembered with honesty, beauty, and care.

I see weddings as more than a celebration. They are a gathering of the people who matter most, a reflection of your relationship, and a collection of moments you will carry with you for years to come. My approach is centered on capturing both the beauty of your day and the candid, in-between moments that often mean the most.

To create images that feel personal and true to you, I love getting to know my clients beyond the timeline. From favorite hobbies and meaningful music to comfort shows and the little things that make your relationship yours, those details help me photograph you in a way that feels natural and authentic. I’m fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and no matter the language, my goal is to make the experience feel easy, comfortable, and enjoyable. When you’re fully present in the moment, real emotion unfolds naturally. Those are the moments that inspire my work and the heart behind Yimotion.

I’m so excited to meet you, hear more about your celebration, and create something meaningful together.
