Frequently asked questions

Q: What kind of weddings do you love shooting the most?

A: I enjoy all weddings, big and small. I particularly love capturing emotional, story-driven moments, from intimate elopements to large celebrations where real reactions, joy, and connection take center stage.

Q: What is your approach in wedding photography?

A: My approach to wedding photography is candid and documentary at its core, focused on real moments and genuine connections as they naturally unfold. I take a quiet, observant approach throughout the day, stepping in with light guidance only when needed so nothing ever feels forced. The goal is to create timeless images that reflect not just how your wedding looked, but how it truly felt. Learn more >About Yi.

Q: How would you describe your editing style?

A: My editing is timeless and natural focusing on real colors, authentic emotion, and elegant compositions. I avoid heavy filters or overly stylized looks so your photos stay beautiful for years.

Q: How many photographers will be at our wedding?

A: Most weddings are covered by one lead photographer, Yi, with the option to add a second photographer depending on the collection you choose. We will go over your wedding day timeline together and recommend the coverage that best fits your celebration.

Q: How long will it take to receive our wedding photos?

A: Your full gallery is typically delivered within 6 to 8 weeks after your wedding. Every image is carefully selected and edited with attention to detail to ensure it meets my professional standards.

Q: Will we get sneak peeks before the full gallery?

A: Yes. A sneak peek gallery is usually delivered within a few days after your wedding so you can relive some of the highlights while the full gallery is being prepared.

Q: How many photos can we expect?

A: For a full day wedding, couples typically receive around 600 to 900 fully edited images. The exact number depends on the length of coverage, the flow of the day, and the events that take place.

Q: What if it rains or the weather does not cooperate?

A: I am experienced in photographing weddings in all kinds of weather. We will always have a backup plan and look for creative solutions so your photos feel beautiful no matter the conditions.

Q: Do you have backup equipment?

A: Yes. I always bring backup cameras, lenses, memory cards, and lighting equipment to every wedding. Your memories are too important to leave anything to chance.

Q: Can we request specific shots or poses?

A: Absolutely. I encourage couples to share any must have shots, family combinations, or special details that matter most to them. I will also guide you when needed to create natural portraits while preserving the candid moments throughout the day.

Q: How do you handle low light or indoor venues?

A: I am very experienced with low light and indoor weddings, including historic venues, churches, and ballrooms. I use professional equipment and lighting techniques to preserve the mood of the space while keeping your images clean, natural, and true to the atmosphere of the day.

A: Not at all. Most couples feel this way at first. My approach is calm, guided, and natural. I offer gentle direction when needed, but nothing ever feels forced. Instead, I focus on movement, interaction, and real emotion so you look like yourselves, not like you are posing. Explore >10 Engagement Photo Tips Every Couple Should Know for more guidance.

Q: What should we wear for engagement photos?

A: Choose outfits that reflect your style and feel comfortable. Coordinated colors and subtle layers photograph beautifully, while overly busy patterns are best avoided.

Q: Do you photograph family or bridal party portraits?

A: Yes. I create a streamlined plan to photograph family combinations, wedding party portraits, and couple portraits efficiently, without taking too much time away from the celebration.

Q: How do you handle large family group photos?

A: I create an organized shot list so large family groupings can move smoothly and efficiently. Everyone is gathered quickly, the needed combinations are photographed, and each group is dismissed as soon as we are done.

Q: How will we receive our wedding photos?

A: All images are delivered through a secure online gallery where you can view, download, and share them with family and friends. Select full day wedding collections also include a USB drive.

Q: Do you offer prints or albums?

A: Yes. I offer a curated selection of high quality albums, prints, and wall art. Albums are thoughtfully designed to tell the story of your wedding day and become timeless keepsakes.

Q: Can we print our photos ourselves?

A: Yes. The images you receive are high resolution and suitable for printing at home or through a professional lab.

Q: How do we know if you’re the right photographer for us?

A: The best way is through a consultation. I will talk through your wedding plans, what matters most to you, and how you want your day to feel. If you value emotional storytelling, a relaxed experience, and timeless imagery, I may be a great fit.

Q: Can you help us plan our wedding photography timeline?

A: Yes, absolutely. Timeline planning is an important part of the experience. I help you map out the best timing for getting ready photos, first looks, family portraits, wedding party portraits, and sunset portraits while keeping the day relaxed and natural. My goal is to make the most of beautiful light and meaningful moments without making your wedding feel rushed or overly scheduled. Find more details in >The Ultimate Wedding Photography Planning Guide.

Q: Do you offer different photography packages?

A: Yes. I offer a range of thoughtfully designed collections to suit different needs, from full day and half day wedding coverage to engagement sessions and curated add ons. Each investment is tailored to complement your wedding day timeline, priorities, and overall vision. You can view investment details >Here.

Q: How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?

A: I recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance, especially for weekend dates and popular venues. This gives you the best chance of securing your date and allows plenty of time to plan your engagement session and wedding day photography timeline.

Q: How do we secure our wedding date?

A: Once you are ready to move forward, a signed contract and 30% retainer are needed to reserve your wedding date. This officially secures your date on my calendar and gives you peace of mind throughout the planning process.

Q: Can we meet you before booking?

A: Absolutely. I offer complimentary consultations by Google Meet or phone so we can get to know each other, talk through your vision, and make sure you feel fully comfortable before booking.
